My go to wine is Pesquera or Emilio Moro from Ribera Del Duero region in Spain. Average price is $25-30 USD (depending on vintage year). Enjoy!

I was in Miami for the holidays and one of my favorite meals was the frita.

The frita (according to Wikipedia) is a Cuban dish with a seasoned ground beef patty (sometimes mixed with chorizo) on Cuban bread topped with shoestring potatoes, lettuce, onions, and a spiced ketchup sauce. A similar dish on Cuban bread is called pan con bistec (bistec de palomilla) topped with the shoestring potatoes. This type of burger is found mainly in South Florida.

If in the Miami area and craving a yummy burger, El Rey de las Fritas is a go place to go. Do not worry if you do not speak Spanish. There are pictures you can point to place your other.

Hello everybody, I got another awesome review for you guys....
TALK ABOUT BANG FOR THE BUCK...I present the Villagio.



Of course, you have drive through the lovely Central Valley California to get to it:



Anyhoo, I paid a little over $300 for a FIVE STAR Hotel/Spa with free parking, free bottle of white wine in the room, free use of spa (except the massage stuff), and free BREAKFAST.

Now let me tell you, this isn't a continental breakfast, it's a really an upscale buffet. They also threw in free unlimited mimosas and bloody Marys and some alcoholic coffee drink. My wife and daughter thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I highly highly recommend this place.

Here a picture of my favorite wine shop in Miami. Yes, you have to enter through the back. It is called Happy Wine. I do get happy when I am in there. Wines are well priced, great selection, and employees are knowledgeable. Their best selection is the Spanish wine section. Only set back is that not all staff is fluent in english. I would not let that stop you. They understand the important wine words.

The tapas/food menu is an added bonus. You will be surprised of the quality of the food for the price. They have tables made out of wine barrels throughout the store where you can sit and have food and wine.

Ok, what do I mean by real wine? Well, I like to drink red wine. Merlot usually. But lets be honest here, when I walk to the wine aisle....I don't know what I'm looking at....except the price tag. In my grocery store, SaveMart, they like to put up yellow tags showing their awesome sales. Sometimes you can save like $4 per bottle. Anyways, I saw Turning Leaf, because of the price tag and because it won 500 awards! So of course, I bought it (please I invite any comments for how I justified my purchase).

So I took it home and used my automatic wine opener that my wife bought for me for my birthday because she wasn't sure what I wanted for my BD and therefore bought something for the house that would be useful and called it a birthday present. In all honesty, it's bad ass and I will write a review about it later.

So I poured the usual 10 ml amount into my wine glass and swirled it...smelled ok....it sipped ok. Poured more, and tasted fantastic. It was very smooth. It's a merlot, so it tasted very Merlotish.

So my ratings:
